What are you day to day eating patterns?

In the morning I like to eat a simple breakfast: high protein, high fiber cereal or a hardboiled egg with yogurt and a piece of sliced whole grain bread. And, I always have a green tea or an espresso to help me wake up. Sometimes I like egg white omelets with spinach. For lunch, I typically have grilled salmon with a mixed green salad or non-dairy vegetable soup. For dinner, I usually have fish-- a piece of grilled fish or sashimi. If I eat meat, I like it to be lean with some vegetables like asparagus.

Do you believe in eating food to make yourself feel better on the inside and out?

Definitely

What is your number one tip for glowing skin?

Drink plenty of water - the equivalent of at least eight glasses of water a day. To make it easier, carry a reusable water bottle, which is more environmentally friendly than going through several plastic water bottles during the day.

At the Detox Kitchen we use lots of ingredients to improve skin tone, are there any foods that you eat to give your skin a beauty boost?

Your diet directly impacts your overall health and also how you look. Certain nutrients in particular are important for maintaining healthy skin, hair and nails. Think of them as your beauty foods. Foods rich in Omega 3 oils-like salmon, almonds, walnuts and olive oil-have skin-repairing benefits while fruits and vegetables with a high-water content like watermelon, cucumber and dark leafy greens will add moisture to your skin. Drinking more water will help too, so don't skimp on H20.

You have had an extremely successful career, what have been the most important lessons you've learnt along the way?

Over the years, I've learned many different values that I believe are the key to running a global business. Here are some of the key things I've learned over the years:

  1. To me, the most important step to success is to follow your dreams and passions. Have a vision of where you want to see yourself and figure out a course to take you there.
  2. Don't take no for an answer. If one door closes, look for a back door or a side door. If you believe in yourself, you can accomplish anything.
  3. Work on your craft, network, and always be nice. Hard work and niceness come back…
  4. Listen to your heart … not always to your head. If your heart says it feels right, listen. Instinct always leads us in the right way.
  5. Don't forget about the importance of family and friends.

And finally, what is your fondest food memory?

I vividly remember sitting in a park in Paris with my husband and three kids, nieces and nephews, enjoying a bottle of French wine with a warm baguette, amazing cheese and farm fresh strawberries.
